Last summer i ordered a reproduction trim piece for around the release handles from Hawk's and it didn't fit and didn't look like the piece i took off. I called them up and asked what was up and they said it sounded like i had an early 89 vert made with leftover 88 parts.Anywho's i m curious as to if that's true. I m wondering if theres anyone else out there with an 88 top and whats your build date. My cars mfg date off the driver's door is 3/89. Does it seem possible to anyone that it has an 88 top stock on an 89?

 

No one has any thought on this really?

The latches for 89-92 are the same, so the trim, latches, and header panel for pre 89 are different. It is possible you got a mix of parts. I had a similar issue, and Denny from third gen ranch helped bail me out.
