Convertible top staples
So I need opinions and help from any who has ever changed the convertible top pads.
I am changing my convertible top this weekend or at least that is the plan. I was doing a last minute check of supplies and reading over directions one more time and have come to a problem. I need to replace the top pads on my car they are stretched and worn. So I ordered new ones at same time I ordered the top. In reading directions supplied with top they want me to use stainless steel staples for attaching top pads at bow 2,3, and 4. Shouldn't be a problem except there isn't a building supply in 45 miles that has them. Opinions on this. Are they really necessary or overkill. I would kinda think being inside the car they would stay dry and not rust. I can get galvanized staples all day long. Galvanized shouldn't rust. Anyone who has done this before have any input? Stainless would probably be the better of the staples but it would cost more to drive and get the staples needed than it would to buy the staples needed.

Re: Convertible top staples
I did it on a Vette once with regular galvanized and never had a problem. Plus they would go into the material easier. Go with galvanized!!
