87 Verts...and what you could get on them?
Hello guys...I'm sure you tired of hearing and answering my questions...got a new one for you...
So I read on here that not too many 87 verts were made...a thousand something? Sooooo my question is this...I assume ALL verts for 87 that a lot had the vin code 2 on them meaning they were coupes not verts...but converted by ASC...moving on.
So like my 87 IROC-Z...I have had this conversation with you all...I assume....and hopefully I'm not getting wild here...but lets say you had a G92 87 305 vert with the better cam...J65 code, engine oil cooler etc....fully loaded with options...I imagine that would actually be kinda rare...we talk about the players cars/1LE...but as I am told the 1LE option didnt come out until 88...so lets factor that in...I would imagine if YOU could get these options that this would be a similarly rare car...I cant imagine many of these are out there...
Also...anyone got any legit pics of a 5.7 vert! Converted by ASC...

I saw one (87) not too long ago that had the bose speaker boxes up front and it had the bose code. I would like to see a list of all the weird combos and 350 cars. they should have made some 89 turbo verts.

Going down your list.
For starters in 1987 & 1988 you could get the G92 with the convertible, even from Chevy, and yes they had the better cam.
The 1LE/Players cars were NA with T-tops until 1991, so you could not order a 1LE T-Top car in the late 80's and then have ASC convert it. The only exception was the TTA had the 1LE brakes and the performance goodies, and there are 2 of those.
ASC made about 200 350 powered Convertibles, 4 or 5 Camaros in 1987, 43 Formula 350s and 143 GTA/Trans AMs. You can also count the 1 Firehawk convertible, but that was originally a 305, then a 350 was installed by SLP.
I have a Legit 5.7 Vert converted by ASC. 1 of 43 Formula 350 convertibles.
