1987 IROC-Z z28 convertible 22k original miles
Hey everyone, I’m new to this forum. My parents have an all original one owner 1987 IROC-Z Z28 convertible 305tpi 5 speed. I’m just looking at some insight as to the rarity of this vehicle. It’s in almost showroom condition. I attached a picture I took before I went to a car show with it.

That's pretty sharp! I'm not one of the guys who crunches the codes and options etc., but I'm sure some of guys will have plenty of additional questions about it!
Rare is a tough one. It's 2018, and you have a desirable powertrain, on a clean, 30 year old, low mile convertible. It's fairly rare, yes, -but you already knew that. In terms on value, you'd really need to post up your RPOs, and let some of the guys here really tell you what you've got. May just be another nice car. Might be some crazy 1 of 100 or something, although don't count on it, lol.

Well we know there was only 744 convertibles made that year. 1987 was the 25th anniversary of the Camaro. It was the first year they made convertible IROCs.
I don’t find that the 87s go for more money than any other year convertible (they’re all rare compared to total production). I think a 5 speed TPI car will sell faster but the non-TPI cars still seem to bring similar money.
I have found all 1987 convertibles I have seen for sale are 5-speed. I do think the 5-speed will sell the car faster as it’s desireable, but it doesn’t necessarily bring more money in the market.
I think an all original one owner convertible like that would be in the $20k-30k range where it would sell fast at $20k and close to $30k it might take 6-18 months to sell. Depends on mileage as well. It also helps if you have all the original documentation, window sticker, etc.
That is a very nice car! How many miles?
