Fliprods

Or whatever their name is.Anyway, mine were binding some/elongating the hole a tiny bit & one was repaired/welded prior. So anyway, i modified another damaged pair i had.i swear it feels smoother with them little heim joints. One welded, one threaded for adjustment to fit.Easy mod btw.

Tried taking a pic with it in top down mode.No interference issues.

Re: Fliprods

Man, that looks good. When I bought my car something like 15 years ago I replaced the broken flips rods with ones from TDS and I think they broke again in 6 months. I decided it was easy just changing how I dropped the top and lifting from the second bow I've never had an issue. That and I stopped putting my top up more than like three times a year. Haha.

Nice job!

Re: Fliprods

Good idea. Bearings are always better for rotational things like this. Sorry GM could not afford them on all the tops.

Re: Fliprods

Lon at TDS redesigned them a couple years ago. The ones he sells now are pretty legit. He even heat treats them so that the rods are stiffer and less prone to bending.

Re: Fliprods

I'll keep that in mind as I replace the top in a few months. Its good to know something better is available.
