Did they make a 91-92 Firebird vert without ground effects?

Car: 1992 Trans Am
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23
Did they make a 91-92 Firebird vert without ground effects?

Just was rummaging around this morning, and realized I have never seen a 91-92 vert without gfx.

Looking up the production figures, I see there are zero 91-92 Formula verts. Anybody know of any base model (non gfx) verts were made at all?

Kind of weird they made them in 87-90 without gfx, and there were Formula verts. Wonder why no 91-92's were made (if my theory is correct)?

Pontiac never offered an official Firebird convertible until mid-year 1991, and the Formula/GTA were exempt 91/92. So that leaves Firebirds and Trans Ams only. Add to that the preponderance of aero package cars, and it's easy to see why they'd be uncommon. But wait, THERE'S MORE! The aero package was standard equipment on the Firebird convertible.

Not the best picture, but it'll have to do.

Thanks man! Makes me wonder what a 91 vert, converted over to a Formula nose, and no gfx would look like......

The Base Firebird Coupes did come with the "Formula nose" but the majority of them came with the GFX. However in Convertible Trim, Drew is correct All Convertibles had the GFX because it hid the structural supports that involved the convertible therefore they did not make any... Even the production data backs this up.

With this said, It would look something like this with the different bumper, and the 91-92 spoiler.

Ideally yes, but there would have to be the structural reinforcement below the doors... Otherwise it would just buckle...
