Trunk pull down part????
Can anyone tell me what this is and what’s it’s used for? I asked Hawks and they said it was for third brake light. This is spring like and I assumed it’s for the trunk release. Anyone that can help would be appreciated.

as my82roc stated it is for the Center High Mount Stop Lamp contacts. They used that instead of running wires around the hatch from the top. This was used from 1987-1990 on all convertibles and coupes.
