Different idea for dome light re mounting?

Hello everyone.
I recently in stalled new t bar and t top seals with the help of our great forum.
But i was wondering if ayone had figured out a way to re-install the dome light houseing.
The little metal lock washer things are broken and i cant bolt to the studs because they arent threaded!
And ideas?

I'm not sure that's the size you need,so click on the Item above and go to the "VIEW CATALOGE" and click on that and you'll see they have smaller ones available also

Re: Different idea for dome light re mounting?

I just ran into this same problem with the dome light last week. I unscrewed the studs from the roof panel and carefully clamped one in my bench vise. Clamp it on the flats, not the threads. Then I used a small die from my tap & die set to cut threads into the part the lock washers pressed onto. Then I remounted them to the roof panel and used a washer and a nut to reattach the dome light. I don't remember the exact size of the die I used, but I wanna say it was a #6 screw, fine thread. The metal the studs are made from isn't the best, but I went slowly and used plenty of oil and they turned out pretty good.
