This would be the plastic trim that goes from left to right, at the top of the windshield header. Right where the sun visors attach. INSIDE the vehicle.

Remove the visors, center screw above the rear view mirror. The front part kinda hooks onto the header sheet metal, so you kinda have to pull it up/rearwards and there's some double sided tape on the backside around the visor area and center portion.

 

I am attempting to do the same removal of the header trim. Doesn't want to come down & I am a bit terrified of breaking it.
There is already\ a crack near the drivers visor that I did not know was there.

It would seem there is something more holding it up, but that might be double sided tape?

 

Yes, there's some double sided tape by the visors and i think near the center. It also bends around the top towards the weather strip. It breaks easy cause its so thin and by now brittle. The hawks replacement is a bit thicker.

It had those same crappy sealant caulk tape strips like it has on the rear spoiler to deck lid studs. Little cheezy, but matches the quality of the crappy plastic, so I guess its fine.

The only ones that were holding anything where the ones crushed in place from the visors mounts. the other ones just fell off.
