Please help guys...

I have an '87 GTA with the digital dash option.
On my digital dash display, it always flashes on the LED display, 'COOLANT'. (It usually beeps too.)
I have determined it is unlikely to be an air pocket, or low coolant.
I'm GUESSING its probably one of the coolant temp. sensors, but which one?!
If anyone else has any other ideas as to what my problem is please let me know, thanks.

I'm not too sure what GM decided to put on your car sensor wise. The only time I've seen a light like that come on in other GM cars is when the sensor on the overflow tank goes bad or theres not enough coolant to shut it off. I'd check the overflow tank for that sensor.

look about halfway down the radiator on the rear on the pressure cap side. You will probably see a single wire coming from a plastic fitting on the tank. That is where they sense coolant level. OE radiators without the digital option did not have the fitting. GMSPO now issues all replacement radiators with that option, in most cases TG vehicles don't use it and you just leave it open.

Yep, my replacement rad has that little sensor. I was thinking of rigging it up, but one thing bugs me- it's a one-wire connection, and it's in a plastic side tank. How the hell does it get grounded?

water/ coolant is a conductor and runs throughout your radiator and engine. I s'pose that would be the ground.

Thanks for the help guys, it is the connector on the side of the rad.-now i just ahve to find the wire that probably wont happen..
