need new radiator - suggestions please

i need a new radiator, and i really want to get a 3-core radiator...
im looking for one that i can use my stock mounts with.... or comes with the mounting hardware...

i have no a/c, so the radiator thing from that is gone (i took out the a/c). i have dual fans. the radiator im using now is a stock one from my 87 iroc, when it was a 305, its now a 350.

i would like to stay below $200 for this radiator.

as for my car, i have a 1987 iroc-z, 350 tpi, t-5. if you need any more details let me know...

thanx

Well you can always go down to local radiator shop and see how much rebuilt ones are. I know for our Jeep we got it for $230 a new radiator put in. Also start looking in the yards for radiators that are in good shape. Those are usually quite inexpensive. The stock radiators on our cars do a good job at keeping the engine cool. I wouldn't worry about trying to make it cooler unless you got a built engine or something.

thing is, i put in a cooler radiator, and on longer trips... (over half hour) it creeps close to the red. id like to keep it cooler for longer. i have a fan running full-time, and it helps a little, but i would like to keep it a little cooler.

If you are only overheating while moving, then your airdam is probably damaged or missing. If the car cools down when idling, your radiator is probably doing it's job.

But if you think you really need a different radiator (old one is clogged or lots of fins bent), then go to Autozone and get the heavy duty one for our cars. It is a 3 row copper/brass and will only cost you $130 with a lifetime warranty.

I bought a stock replacement from Pepboys and installed it myself (don't care for them touching my car) Well anyways, I run under 160 all the time with a Hayden fan switch, 180* Stat and stock water pump.

The stock ones are GREAT, like said before, and can really keep these cars cool if you have the right stuff. Surprises me though cuase GM likes to run there cars hot becuase of less emmissions that way. But with the right stuff these cars can be just cool enough with the stock radiator style. You REALLY don't need anything else, just a was't of money.

Also i should note that i have a single fan with a broken fan shroud and my fan blades catch the edge and i still stay under 160. Man i love these cars

I paid 135 inc. tax at pepboys for the radiator.
