I have a cool can in my 70 Nova SS 396.It's an old Mr.Gasket one.
Just an aluminum can with a coil of 1/2" aluminum tubing in it.
The tubing has tube sleeves/nuts and -8AN fittings and there's a drain petcock in the bottom of the can.
Moroso makes a nice insulated plastic one now, that has pipe-thread fittings in/out.
These things work great, the only reason I don't have one on my 92 RS is the lack of room in the engine compartment. If I didn't need to pass smog, I'd get rid of a few things and squeeze one in there.
The cold fuel makes a difference. I could feel the difference in my Nova the first time I used it. It has a 500HP 454 in it.

did you use dry ice?
i am thinking of using a 2 lb. coffee can with 3/8" fuel line. putting a 13oz can inside of that to store the dry ice.
putting the line between the cans and filling it with expanding foam for insulation.
