Air Conditioning Vents

I'm not sure if this belongs on this board, but the board's description does say this
Discuss all of the aspects of cooling that you can think of!
So I noticed the other day that the big vents by the instrument panel, and for the passenger [which I refer to as the A/C vents] stopped working. Ok, I think it's the blower motor, so I get my friend to test the wires to the blower motor, it checks out good. The defroster vent by the windshield works.

I tried taking apart the console that controls the vents to check the vacuum connections thinking maybe a vacuum line has rotted through, or something came unplugged, but couldn't pull it far enough out to see. Are these actions along the right path to a successful repair?? I know there are some vent doors and they might have gotten stuck somewhere, but am not sure how to access them.

Sorry for the long post, but anyone with experience here would be a lot of help. And black cars with no moving air SUCK in July!!!!

Well if it blows out the defrost vent, then it can be 2 things: a stuck door somewhere or loss of vacuum. When you move the slider between MAX, norm, vent, etc, do you hear a slight hiss sound come from the control or any doors opening?

Well i just turned the ignition to "on" tried that, and blew the 25 amp fuse. I'll have to find one to get the answer

[Edit] Fixed it today. Turns out the vacuum line coming from the vents wasn't hooked up to the manifold vacuum. However, the new fuse blew a day later , thus something else to work on.
