Good ways to cool down a camaro?
I have a 92 RS w/ a TPI 350. New hoses, new 160* t-stat, TB bypassed, 1 year old rad. Checked recently, checked out clean. Air dam in place, though bent and scratched. 500+ miles on rebuilt engine.(broken in) New water pump. New rad. cap. 50/50 mix water/anti-freeze. Both fans wired up to switches. Both on at all times during the summer time. Runs cool until it reaches high temp(240*) then wont cool down until i turn it off and let it cool. It slowly rises up to 240*. It gets bad in stop and go driving. I'm thinking of taking out the t-stat just for the summer for better flow, and running strait water w/ water wetter. Any other suggestions?

might want to replace the stat, it might not be opening properly. if you suspect the stat is functioning properly then take it out drill two holes in the housing. most people will say two 1/8" holes, thats whats in my 180* stat in my car. i have two 1/4" holes in the 160 stat though. with either stat and my stewart stage one water pump and manual fan switch i have no cooling problems in any weather in any traffic situation. i found the holes (either size) to help greatly.

1/4" is pretty damn big, id feel safer with a pair of 1/8" holes really, thats one mod i wish i had done to mine just recently when i replzced the therm, new one made no difference at all, still runs 230 240, so,,,, rear main is starting to leak, leaves puddle now after shutdown, may have something to do with higher temp thats been problem for long time. is anopther thing that HAS tgo be fixed to keep car runniing and driving, otrher than fixing temp problem, and need to grease chassis asap hopefully this weekend i can finally do that, other things not important really, car will stil run drive fine if i dont fix the headliner or door hinge or windshield
good luck
