how should it be 305tbi

k my car seems to run at about 200-220 degrees after about 10 minutes of drivning. it never gets hot enough for the fan to have to kick n unless im sitting in traffic for a while, then it will kick in at about 225 even if im going faster the car seems to stay right between 200-220 mark.
air damn is on no problem there. brand new intake gasket put in. so theres no leaks of any such thing anywhere. maybe its normal but it definintley doesnt seem it

92 camaro rs
305 tbi

If you are running a stock stat you are in the normal range for these cars. A lot depends on outside air temp, condition of cooling system and coolant/water mix. You might want to go to a higher water content in your mix. Most of these cars will run between the 160-220 mark on the guage in normal driving in summer. As you read the post's here you will see many modifications you can do, lower fan switch, different stats etc. I don't recommend any of them. They all have disadvantages. The best thing to do to drop her down a little may be a high flow water pump. With that kind of mileage has it been chemically flushed recently. A good flush removes a lot of crap that blocks water passages. You are really OK, how much you do is up to you.

Running a stock thermostat, the temp should be between 195(the stat) and 225(the fan kicks in).

yup, you're OK. Now that we're all seeing some really hot weather this summer, everyone is seeing increased temps. However, like I keep saying, 220 is normal, that's why it's in the middle of the gauge.

I run a rock-steady 200, with a 195 stat, Single fan setup. I also have a fairly new radiator, and a Stewart Stage II water pump.
