A/C Oring Questions

A/C Oring Questions

my a/c has developed a few leaks and wish to replace all the old orings. Does any one know who sells a complete oring kit for the complete A/C system(88' TPI Type A/C). does anyone one what sizes and amount of each size i need? i went to a few autoparts stores and they said we need the old ones to match it up. well i wish to keep down time to a minimum. it's hot down here in texas. i am using a r-12 Replacement(mineral oil type orings needed). what material are the original orings made of? and what color are they supposed to be? i have seens green one's blue ones and what not. i am just confused. can some one help?:hail:

YES stick with r-12 if your in texas LOL 134a is CRAP ok about the O-rings, GM would have a set, also I know that costal products makes a retro fit set for 134a but that would also work with R-12, they use to hang them behind the conter at HI LO but that was back in the day. Go to the local parts store and ask or get the retro kit that has all the o rings and the fittings but just don't use the 134a fitings only use the o rings that you want. Still check for leaks when you get all done by pulling a STRONG vacum and letting it stand over night and see if it holds. Always buy new compressors never rebuilts, rebuilts are weak and they die fast. New one is only 200 at autozone which is only 100 more than that rebuilt crap, Well worth the money.
