Help!! Need advice quick

Today I drove to church without the belt that runs from the crank to the alternator and water pump. I drove 4 miles in city traffic(25-40 MPH) before I knew it was off. The temp gauge pegged way out. Under the hood everything looked normal, no smoke. The only steam was where the coolant was hitting the block( my bypass hose has been leaking for a while). Should I worry about the engines gaskets, rings, valves being fried? The car sat for 1 hour or so and the temp was down to the line between 100 and 220.
What should I watch for? Should I worry a lot? Its a '89 305 TPI.

Thanks,
Matt

Well one thing I'd be worried about is warped heads. There is an indicator on your heads someplace, sorry can't remember. If your heads got too hot, this little plate will be melted. This is a good indicator that the heads could be trashed.

I drove the car today to and from school and work and it seemed to run normal. If the heads warped wouldn't it run like crap?

Thanks guys, just needed some reassurance. I put enough money into this car...

Replaced:
-rebuild trans
-struts, 2 alignments, centerlink
-battery, alternator
-3 headlight relays
-1 headlight motor
-tires
-brakes

Need to fix:
-NO cold start system(no CSS, CS injector, no enrichment program)
-oil pan leak
-coolant leak
-power steering leak
-rotted floorboard
-blown donut in exhaust
-no fog lights
-body panels misaligned
- no t-top headliner
- broken seatbelt latch
-missing half of the interior bolts/screws
-AC torn out
-weird stalling problem, might be EGR, injectors, pump, relay
-think oil pump or relay may be going( after I change the oil the car don't want to start and the oil pressure is non-existant for about 5 seconds)

All this and I still love the car. Boy, I'm such a idiot.

If any of you guys can help me(advice or parts), I'd sure appreciate it. Just be aware I am flat broke. School started and I hve to plan for college next year and I have a low paying job($6.80/hour for about 12 hours/week).

Sorry about b!tchin.
