So what do you call the...

... plastic piece just to the left of the air cleaner in my '92 305 TBI. There are three hoses and a wire connected to it. Mine's cracked and leaking coolant. It looks pretty easy to change, I just don't know what it's called or what exactly it does. Thanks for your help.

It's the Heater Control Valve. It's sends coolant to the heater core when the Heat is selected on the control panel. The line connected to it is a vacuum line.

do not touch it! It will implode if you lift it up. Go buy a new one (driving a friends car), and simply re-fit.
