Compressoer swap?
I was wondering if I could use an AC compressor on my V belt set up that was on a serp belt set up. does anyone know if they are the same except the pully? I have my old locked up compressor so I can just get the set up off if it and put on the other one if this is possable someone please tell me I can get my ac working again for free if this can be done.

yes. as long as the both of them are GM R4 compressors they are the same. just swap out the clutch pulley rim and clutch assembly from the serp to the old v-belt compressor. set the clutch air gap from 0.20"- 0.40". this is not very hard at all with the proper tools.
NOTE:
make sure the compressor that u are going to use that little pressure switch on the back. (if your original compressor is so equipped)

Thank you for you help. This compressor should be the same since it is coming off of another Camaro which I think is an 89 or 90.
