pro's & con's

ok i have a 91 3.1l firebird w/ac

what would be the pro's & con's of adding a
tranny and or oil cooler????

It's a matter of opinion. Many experts claim different things. Racing or towing or severe street use trans cooler is probably worthwhile. Normal use, go with a synthetic trans fluid. Ditto for engine oil. Use synthetic and forget the cooler. GM changed the vette factory fill to syn to eliminate an oil cooler. I dont like aux coolers because it's just another place for leaks to develop and with modern syn technology it's a waste of money and adds weight.

I'd definately get the trans cooler, as it will greatly increase the life of the tranny.

IMO, additional tranny cooler is always worth it. Engine oil cooler in extreme conditions.

Trans cooler is always a good idea, just make sure you keep the factory cooler hooked up that's in the radiator, run the add on cooler after the factory cooler. I don't think an engine oil cooler is necessary in your case, but it won't hurt.

pros = helps keep things lasting longer...
cons = cost money, a place for leaks to occur, and takes up some space...
