Where is my fan switch suppose to be?

I have an 84 z28, which I recently installed a 350 into (replaced the
lg4). When I installed the 350 I upgraded my cooling system, and
went to an electric fan. I installed the fan switch in the intake
manifold, which I thought was the stock position on these cars
(I included a picture). However, I have been reading posts about
fan switches on this board and keep seeing that they are installed
between the #6 & 8 cylinders. Now my question is if this location
is for post 86 cars and if I have the switch in the right location?
I was also wondering if Jet makes a switch for my car, because
the NAPA stock replacement doesn't turn the fan on until ~235 degrees.
Also, I have a performer intake manifold, and could the switch
be turning on so late because the manifold is dissipating the heat
quickly (coolant in the manifold location is cooler than in the engine).

On a stock (I know you said that's not the original motor) '84 LG4, the location you pictured(circled) is for the ECM coolant temp sensor.
IIRC, Vader drillerd and tapped his thermo housing an put a fan switch there on his motor though.
