Anyone know why rad can't touch metal?????
I read somewhere that rad should not touch metal? I want to make a bracket to hold my rad, what material should I use?
Thanks

Copper or aluminum should not contact steel or other diffrent metals, because a galvanic cell is set up and you get rapid corrosion. You can insulate the bracket from the radiator using plastic grommets or anything that stops an electrical circuit forming, but can withstand the temperatures.

If it touches metal, it can also wear a hole it it from the vibration of the car. If you have metal to metal, make sure it's really tight and can't move at all. Or just insulate it.

I have heard it called metal biasing. If you look at a aluminin sun roof it will not rust it will just oxidize and flake apart. That is why we have so much trouble with our batterie cable connection. Rubber shoudl work fine as a cushion.
