manual fan switch

I was going to put a manual fan switch in today so i could turn the FANS on at my luxury. i went ahead and tapped the green and white wires on both the primary and secondary relays the one of the passenger fender and the one closest to the radiator support, and tied them both to one line into a switch then grounded the switch out, it was a three terminal switch also, but now the only results have is both fans are on constantly...... i need to know how i can wire it so both come on whenever i want by the switch in the interior, and dont give me some bs diagram because im frusterated with reading them and not knowing what it means, and dont refer me to the faq area ive read that 5 times already, just tell me in plain english how to do it, what wire what color where to splice and where to go....please id appreciate the help, sorry for such a long post, im just getting really frusterated....id appreciate it....

just take the f wires on the relays combine them and put them to one terminal of the switch and of coarse keep one of the other terminals to a body ground..

so that switch when flipped should just ground the relays when the car is on, and turn the fans on..

i have a similar setup but just with the passengers fan..

good luck.

ok heres the deal, when i turn the car on accesssory, it works fine witht the switch the both turn on and off as needed, but when i start the engine it just constantly runs them both and i dont have control over anything the just run.....next when i disconnect the passenger side fan to the switch i can start the car, and have control over the one fan with the switch, im confused,..............

that is weird that it works fine when in acess. mode and when the car is on it does not...

make sure you have the right wires going to the right places..

it should work fine.. your just grounding the relays so the fans come on when ever you flip it.

maybe try a different toggle switch..
the one terminal should have both the f wires going to it and the other terminal should have a body ground, like around the strut tower i found a good one..

Assuming you have a car new enough to have stock, ECM controlled, elec fans, I'd guess that you've unhooked/removed the A/C.
If all your factory (fan) wiring is in tact and you've only added the switch inline to the existing wiring, the blue wire on the press switch on the A/C line (small alum. line runs the pass side frame rail) runs to the ECM (A/C pressure request, switch open at certain line pressure) and must be grounded or the ECM 'thinks' the A/C is on and will run the fans when the car is started.
That's just a guess though..
