Search is down...got a question for a friend....Help!
A co-workers son just got an 89 Camaro RS with the 305 motor. I haven't seen his car yet so I don't know all the details on it.
Okay so my co-worker asked me what could cause a car to run hot. I told her that the thermostat could be bad, or the radiator may not be good anymore.
She said her husband has replaced the thermostat and flushed the cooling system. He read in the manual there are four sensors that could be the culprit but only could find 3 of them and replaced them.
The motor is still running hot.
I told her to take out the radiator and wash it real good. I also said for them to check the fan. I don't know if it is electric or engine driven. If it was electric I told her to check the relays to the fan or if it was engine driven to check that the fan blades are not bent up wrong.
I don't know what else to say....what do you all think? Is there something here that has reminded you of a similar problem? Can you guys help?
Thanks again.

I don't know when it's overheating but, first of all its probably an electric fan setup. second if it overheats when moving slowly then its probably the fan(s) not coming on, if it overheats when going over 35 or 40 mph then it may be missing the air dam under the nose. our cars are notorious for loosing the air dams and will definatly run hot without it.
