Thermostat?

This is probably a stupid question, but when I started my car on a cold day with the radiator cap off, I noticed that immedietly water started flowing through. Does this mean that I don't have a thermostat, or is that normal. Normally I'd go out and check, but I stored the car for the winter and it's too cold to go outside and take stuff apart.

Also, when I let my car idle to warm up, it warms up to 220 and drives at 220. I know these car's are supposed to run hot, but that's really hot. Anybody else's car do that?

hey 91FirebirdFmla you sound fine to me!

i also run 220 most of the time!

you seeing the left over coolant in the block and the water pump moving it into the radiator most likely.
