I give up! can anyone offer any help.

This is the prob : couple of weeks ago i started getting a coolant leak. well it was the pump to plate gasket, so i replaced that.

then the pump itself started leaking through the weep hole. so i replaced the whole pump.
then the lower rad hose was leaking just a little, but that stopped when i tightened the clamp.
So about a week later the heater starts blowing cold air. I figure the heater core is clogged.
A couple of day after that the car suddenly overheats getting into the red. I pulled over and let it cool down, it was about 17degrees out. Get home and replace the thermostat. It hasnt overheated since.

So i replace the heater core. Not fixed. when i did that i broke the hard plastic vac hose to the diverter valve. I put a repair sleve over the break. Still no heat.

Thne i replace the diverter valve, burp the system. now it heats up a little but it doesnt get really hot. Whats the deal.
Im running out of ideas and things to replace here. Help Please!!

did you check the heater control valve? or check to see if the heater core is leaking?

Sounds like your radiator cap is locked up. Try a new one because old ones can overpressure the system and fail to allow the refilled system to fully fill up. It takes a few heating and cooling cycles to fully prime.

alco, check the damper behind the heater core shroud. When you replace the heater core you may have knocked the linkage loose or something. Anytime you fix something, and something else doesnt work, retrace your steps, I have had that happen to me so many times.
