You can use it, just make sure you flush the old coolant out completely. BTW, why do you want to use Dexcool?

Just make sure that you don't mix the two.

According to Texaco who developed DC for GM they say to do 2 flushes. Drain and fill with DC, drive for 2 wks then do it again. When I did my 89 I replaced all the cooling system components except the water pump then I ran straight water for a couple of weeks. It was in a heated garage above freezing, point being wait until it's warmer and no risk of freezing if you do it that way. De-ionized water is best. I repeated this several times until there was no evidence of the green stuff. Then I did the refill with Dexcool and it's been fine since. You cannot have more than 10% conventional left in the system when you convert. Texaco also states interestingly enough that you should stick to the 2 yr service interval if the car was not factory filled with DC. I feel that if the system is cleaned out well you should be able to get the benefits of the longer service life of DC. Just keep an eye on the color, if it gets funky looking flush it again. I run it in all the cars and even the motorcycles and have no real problems.
