griffen 31x19 fitment
Well during my LT1 swap I wanted to get some extra cooling and not spend the Mucho Dinero to get a custom radiator..
Following some of the posts on this board I got the 31x19 griffen universal aluminum radiator.. fit was great, the condenscer still fits in the front and the only slicing that was neccessary was the top shroud and the rubber bumpers on the condenscer needed to be trimmed a bit..
Thanks for the info everyone, here is a pic of the fitment..oh the braided fitting was welded on for the steam line off the back of the LT1 heads..

Very nice install.
I am thinking of ordering one myself is the part #GRI-25272-X.
also does it only have the 2 radiator hose inlets or does it have the heater and transmission line inlets as well.
Thanks.
Jeff.

Sorry didn't see the other post till today..
the radiator just comes with the upper and lower hose connection.. I ran a separate flexalite tranny cooler.. I had a speed shop braze on a 6an fitting for the LT1 steam line.. thats it no drain plug either..
the part number is 475-125272-X from Jegs.. looks like you have the right griffen number, the box is gone so I can't reference it.

Jeff,
Can't say if there is a difference in performance since the engine and cooling system are completely new.. I have no reference other than my pld 305..
I am running the dual flexalite fan setup with the radiator, dexcool and water wetter as well.. the factory temp sender is in the water pump.. the autometer one that feeds my gauge is in the head.. the temp goes up to about 195 on the gauge and stays there.. highway, idle, whatever it seems to be right at that temp soo I am pretty sure it works well.
