Well...after much time spent troubleshooting (the entire weekend)... Ive finally found the problem....my ECM (computer) was messed up and didnt turn on my fan at the set temp...

*now im just posting this for anybody else who is having overheating problems

My steps of troubleshooting:
1. checked if i had rad coolant (duh )
2. checked belts if they were too loose or used
3. checked fan (found it wasnt working)
4. tested to see if fan actually spun (i just jumpered it)
5. after finding that the fan worked i checked the fan activation switch...(worked good)...i jumpered that too
6. after checking all the wiring... i traced it back to the ecm computer....and replaced that....
7. BINGO!!

works good now

another alternative if ur not so rich would be putting a manual switch in the car to activate the fan whenever....

 

How much did it cost you to fix?

 

Cost me nearly $200 CND for a new ECM and a weekend of labour

 

The computer chip controls the fans not the ECM.

 

isnt the computer the ecm? well....i replaced the computer...errr...mb....
