found my cooling problem on the z28

found my cooling problem on the z28

here's what i found when i tore into the car today.





i looked at the exhaust as well. on the driver's side, the pipe broke loose from the muffler. what i'm going to do is clean off the rust, and patch and weld it where i can. it will have to work until i can get a new exhaust. i checked the radiator hoses, all is well there.

it's ok, i'm kinda relieved, as it could have been a hell of a lot worse. i think the ticking noise was caused by the fan hitting the radiator. makes sense to me. two of the blades are bent, and if you look closely, you'll see paint is coming off on some of the other blades.

just 1 question.....how did the fan actually hit the radiator? the radiaotr comeloose?

i highly doubt that, the fan was bent before. i wasn't able to replace it when i put this radiator in back in march. i gambled, and i lost .
