220 degrees when fan is on constant???????

ok i was having issues with the car running too hot for my liking, ..hooked the fan up to run constantly while the key is turned, ..sucker still runs at 222 degrees...wtf?! ive flushed the fluid like 4 times. thermostat is new, and 180 one at that.

whats the deal?? inside of the radiator is spotless....

the way i flushed it was took out the temp sending unit out of the drivers side head , took off the radiator cap, stuck a hose in it, and let it run for 5 mins with the heat on, ...water was running clear, and when i reved the gas it shot out pretty strong, ...doubt its clogged.

maybe it has something to do with the way i ran the hoses to the 86' performer manifold i have on there.....how can i explain this......you know the lil 3 port black thing behind the a/ c pump ...one hose runs to the heater core, one runs to a port on the back of the satock manifold, the other goes to a tube down near the over flow container.

well i hooked the hose up from the side of that 3 port deal, up to the only available port on the performer which is the one in the front left. this correct?

i left the other hoses going to where they should be going, this is the only radiator hose ive modified/moved.

A picture would help greatly... You've made sure your timing isn't overly advanced??? That will cause a pesky overheat condition...

222 at idle or driving normally - no beating and decent speeds???
If at idle then it might be that even though the fan is blowing it is not blowing hard enough and not pulling enough air through the rad. That's what happened to mine and I got new motors. I had no idea mine were moving so slow until I put the new ones on.

Timing is also possible.
