Stat question

I just put a new water pump and i seem to be running 225-240 on summer days, i am almost positive that i have the stock 195 stat, how much would my temp drop if i were to put in a 170 or maybe 160 stat?

195-170=25 degrees lower...

However keep in mind that even though you install a lower temp thermostat, your fans are still going to kick on at the same temp. i don't recall that temp right now, i think its around 215*. So your only going to notice a difference at high speeds or unless you install a new fan switch to kick the fans on at an ealier temp. http://store.summitracing.com/section.asp?d=5&s=308
