Elecrtic Fan on non-CC car?

Hey...

I have a friend who has a car with no computer at all, and was wondering about using an electric rad fan with it. It has a belt driven fan now. I don't mean one that you manually turn on, but one that turns on on its own, like a stock f-body one.

Any thoughts?

There's two options that both work the same way by remotely switching on the fans.
One, assuming it's a V8, is to use a temperature switch mounted into the passenger side head between #6 and #8 cylinders - I *think* the CC cars used this setup for the primary fan, but I'm not 100% sure as all 3 of my thirdgens have been ECM-less
The second way, is to use a thermal sensing switch mounted either onto the radiator fins, or inside the upper hose in the coolant itself to activate the fan relay.
Both methods will 'ground out' to close the circuit.

Pete is correct. Thats the way non CC guys have been doing it for years. You can get a temp switch that installs on the radiator for like $30.
