Heat comming in under driver side panels

I have a lot of hot air blowing in under the driver side panel.(by the gas and break pedals) The heater is off. This only happens when moving not while at astand still. It seem like the engine is heating the air and then it is blowing in the passenger area. Any ideas how to fix?

mix door might be stuck part way open, although some air flow is normal even if the system is in the off position. that ar you might try to see if any of the firewall grouments have fallen out

the mix door is the flap inside of you duct work that changes the driection of the air flow from defrost to vent ect... There are two in most systems. to see if they work remove the plastic hush panels and move the controls(with car running) and listen for something moving. These systems do not usualy fail but it is not unheard of either. as for holes in the firewall just look with a flashlight where the differant wires nad harness go through and make sure the seal is intack. ohhh just thought of a trick that has worked for me in the past. close all windows doors ect... turn heat on high control on max a/c and get you a squirt bottle filled with soap and water and squirt the suspected area and look for the bubbles
