Would flushing my radiator make that much of a difference??
Would flushing my radiator make that much of a difference??
Hey guys I have a 85 Camaro its a 305 4bbl carb and its nice but after visiting these furoms I worry about it cuz I never knew 220 reading on my temp gauge is a bad thing I thought it was natural seeing as it was a v8 but the thing is I got that reading while the car was parked and has'nt moved anywhere it was just on for a few minutes. Well I went looking around and I poped open the radiator cap and
it was horrid!!! It was full of oil!!!! The car runs perfectly trust me its nowhere near to blowing but the car has been threw 3 engines already cuz all of them from the past has blown and the prior owner doesnt know crap about cars(he once tried to tell me he checked the oil of a standered car from under the hood!! He was certain there was a dipstick!!! Lmao) so I guess he never ever thought of flushing the radiator so its most likely that is why he went threw 3 engines, Anyways I am going to flush it naturally I imagen there is no flow whatsoever and its not like oil is a cooling agent but I want to know should I expect such a big difference???
As for checking the therm and the water pump there all fine I can feel water rushing threw all the hoses but one more thing I noticed If I accel the car real fast the hose close to the ground tightens up I mean it looks like a ghost strangeld it then releases is that normal?? Im assuming that hose is not the hose that belongs there, Im not sure but doesnt the hose need like a coil inside of it???
All replys will be greatly appreciated

There is an oil dipstick under the hood of the car..manuals and automatics..it's the trans dipstick manuals dont have...if your antifreze has oil in it, you might have a bad radiator..and thats bad for your engine, and tranny...check your oil..check your tranny fluid, i dont know forsure, some of them coolant, tranny fluid, and oil run though the radiators, some cars it's just the coolant..but if you have oil..i would check your oil, is it think? Like real think? What color is it? if you or him put in the new antifreeze, the dexcool..that could jack it up..I would deffentally flush it, then take it out, and see what it looks like, if you can, take a pict of the fluid..for us..

sorry, i replyed before i finshed your post..the bottom hose..um, it could be cloged, if your oil is thick, it'll let the fluid though but when you accel, and your pushing alot more fluid, there might not be enough room for all of it..now if by you mean strangled ghoast, it's flat, then yeah, thats a problem..cause it's all presureized, your not geting anything though there, if anything it should be round when accel...can i get a pic of that too?
