Heater Core?!?!?

Ok heres the situation...I finished my motor swap a few weeks ago. I hooked the heat up about 2 weeks ago. And finally got a new Thermostat and heat has been working reallly good for about 2 days! Today I left school went down the road and broke it sideways at the corner and nailed 2nd gear hard. About a mile up the road I went into NAPA to get som Wiper blades. As I pulled in I smelled antifreeze and the temp guage shot from its normal 160' up to 190 for a few secs then back down. I got the blades and stuff, Came out started the car, And smelled Antifreeze again, And now noticed it coming out from under the dash. I drove the mile back up to school And cut it off, It never went above the 160 Mark. By this point I had a good amount on the floor and a puddle on the ground. I had sports stuff after school, I came back out, Checked the coolant level, It was still good. Topped off the reserve and went home, Maybe one or 2 drops the whole way?Since then I've gone to work and to my moms without a move of the temp guage and not a drop of leaking? Is my heater core gone bad or something else happen? Im am lost, Thanks!

its either starting to go bad, or at least the two hoses that connect to it may be kinda lose and somehow leaking into the car.

try to make sure the lines are tight before u start to pull out the core.
