No Heat, good motor/selector
Okay I've done some searches and I'm not sure where to go.
My blower motor works, my Heater Control Valve is new, and I would assume it's functioning properly but I'm not sure how to check it.
My engine runs 180degs, and I get no heat. Once in a while it will come on, but 29 times out of 30 I get no heat. It's sub freezing out, my car is a canolie and I can't get warm or defrost it!
One would thing that the vacuum motor that opens the heat door isn't working maybe?
When I move the vent selector, air comes out the right holes.
I had A/C, but removed it only. Put in a non a/c box. Don't know if I got heat then, it was warm out.
Where do I check for what?
Thanks

With the car warmed up, feel the heater hose lines (at the firewall) to see if they are warm. If they are then the problem might be the temp selector cable not being hooked up or broken. Pop the cover off the pass side underdash and you'll see the arm for the selector flap. Move the temp to hot and cold while watching, it should move.
If the heater hose is not warm, you may have the hoses on the control valve backwards.
With the temp set to cold, the valve has vac. applied to it and keeps coolant from circulating to the heater core.
Could also be the little control valve is broken on the hvac controls too... just some ideas...

Now that is something I didn't know, but since my vacuum line to that particular valve is junk and it has to be replaced, but the valve still works like it is supposed to. And it worked all the time like it is designed to even when I had to replace ALL of my vac lines, but since I didn't know exactly what the default position was, I was going by experience. Thanks for the correction-it's well noted.
