Radiator fluid

I own a 91 Camaro with 350 tpi with a/c and an automatic transmission. I am currently dex-cool orange anti-freeze. The reason I went to this is that it is supposed last longer than the green anti-freeze and I also noticed when my oil cooler gasket and housing were replaced by a shop I am noticing some black-sludge like fluid in the reservoir. Could it be oil from the oilcooler housing replacement or is this dexcool to harsh on the internal rubber hoses? Your response is greatly appreciated.

It had the orange stuff in there prior to replacing the oil cooler gasket and housing. So there was no green stuff that I could see.

By the way, I have heard alot of controversies about dex-cool. It should only be used on newer vehicles because it will damage the insides of rubber hoses. Others say it's ok to use and won't damage anything. Should I switch?

it will not damage the rubber hoses. if someone told you that, then they are ing you. the rubber hoses sold for newer cars are the same for non Dexcool vehicals. However Dexcool has been known to leave quite a bit of sludge when you get ANY contaminants in the cooling system just because Dexcool sucks. I can open the cap on my 2002 S-10 and see black particles floating around. Its not sludging yet but I have a feeling the dealer is going to have a visit from me to flush it out before the warranty runs out.
