Temp Gauge not registering on warm starts...

If I start the car cold, the temp gauge will slowly rise to an operating temp. But should I turn the car off, say to run in the store, and then come back out and go, the gauge will be pegged below the first has mark and continue to not register... What gives? Anyone experience this before? Thanks fellas

that is kinda of weird, i would definitely look into maybe getting a new gauge sender, thats the sensor on the drivers side block/head area.

thats my guess, anyone else care to add input?
