what's this thing?

Hey guys. I need to replace the 'thingy' where the hose breaks off to go to the heater core (2 big hoses) and the AC. It's a vacuum controlled valve (looks plastic) and sits on top of the passenger side valve cover. Kind of just lays there on top. The bottom of it cracked a piece off when I dropped it against the valve cover...Anybody know what this is? I have a 305 tbi (92 rs). I tried to find a pik on here of it but no such luck. Unfortunately it seems to spray a bit with the heat on...and it's a little cold here so..lol. Let me know.

I hate the stupid heater valve because it does nothing but leak around the one hose when it's FREEZING cold. I replaced it with a new one back a few months ago and when it gets cold like the 20's and below the hose says lets drip a lot of coolant. I suppose the one hose should be replaced even though I did that a two years ago.
