Car to hot
I had an antifreeze leak the other day and found out it was the upper radiator hose. I replaced this and thank *** because the smell was getting horrible. I think the alarm place accidentally pushed down on the hose so it hit the belt. But anyway I was sitting on drive-thru at mcdonalds and smelt the smell again because my window was open then I looked at my heat gauge and it was somewhere around 250 degrees. It smells like burning antifreeze. But I don't see any on the ground and can't find another leak. Any Idea's? Plus my fan doesn't seem to work unless it wants to. Anyone know where I could get a new one? Thanx for any help.

might not be the fan itself, might just be the fan switch, you can replace that pretty easly.
umm try this first.
i use a 50/50 mixuture of coolant and water.
when the car is full cold (like sitting all day)
look to see where the coolant level in the resovior tank is at?
fill it up if need be to full cold, after that if u cant find any leaks.
take off the radiator cap, and then start the car, watch the coolant level in the radiator and fill it up if need be to fill it fully and then let the engine get up to operating temp then put the cap back on, the key is to most of the air out of the system but lose be losing alot of coolant in the process.
after that i guess u need to find out why the fan doesnt come on either, might be the only factor, when idling with no air flow engines will tend to overheat that high with a fan flowing air..
since u said it works sometimes, that could be maybe the fan relay, or other parts. need to narrow down somethings.
