Hard radiator hose/piping?

I've seen some mustang supercharger kits and a few random cars with a "hard" radiator piping I guess you could call it. It looks like polished stainless steel pipe replacing the radiator hose, and using heater/radiator hose to connect at the radiator and at the engine/thermostat. I was wondering if this is possible on our cars? Doesn't seem to me that it'd be hard.. bend up some pipe... polish it... connect it... but would the pipe corrode or anything? It just seems too simple to me... any comments/suggestions? Thanks.

Most of those kits come with a painted plastic hose. You could rig up a hard pipe just remember that the ends have to be flexible to account for engine movement.

Those hard pipe kits have silicone ends, like what they use on intercooler piping.
