Fan Relay Dk Grn/white Wire (to ground or not to ground)?
ok I have a 1985 camaro the fan stays on constantly I have come to find out that the car had a engine swap and that the harness is from a 1985 camaro with A/C My car didn't originaly have a/c so i take it that the computer thinks that the a/c is on so it turns the fan on. The fan relay is connected correctly and no splicing or hacking was done to it and I used the search function But can't find the exact answer I am looking for. One of the threads I read said this but would that make the fan stay off until it is kicked on by the CTS, I want the fan to operate properly as intended
If you ground the dark green/white wire from the fan relay, the fan should operate. If that doesn't run the fan (with the ignition ON) you may have a fan relay problem. Another temporary way to run the fan constantly is to disconnect the high pressure cutout switch in the air conditioning system, if the car was equipped with A/C. Again, this depends on having a working fan relay and correct fan power wiring.

I thank your for the link and it helped but the Dk green wire is the one that kicks the fan on it the a/c comes on and all wiring diagrams show it going to the A/C harness, Well being that the car never had a/c there is no a/c harness. I have made a jumper Wire with a fuse built in I am Going to grounded it through that and if it is wrong it will blow the fuse rather than Mess anything Up. Well I hope SO.

uhhh, no
the green/white wire at the relay, cut the wire, then the end of wire that still goes to the relay, extend and run to the/a fan switch in the head(pass side, between #6 & #8 plugs)
then the fan will turn on when the temp switch trips
for the switch, the stock one goes on at 235, off at approx. 220
the one from a 87 buick t-type v-6(vin 7)goes on at 220, off at approx. 205
