Running without a radiator hose!
Running without a radiator hose!
I was driving the other day when the temp gauge started rising. When I opened the hood, the lower radiator hose was slit right down the midddle. I change the hose and the next day I was heading to a local Fbody salvage yard to buy a set of diamond spoke GTA wheels, when the temp gauge began rising again. When I opened the hood, the coolant overfloww tank was boiling coolant. Then I turned the key to check the fan but It wouldnt turn on.Ive checked the motor and the motor spins connected directly to the body, I bought a new relay and have interchanged the new one with the two relays next to the master cylinder, even the one next to the A/C but nothing.Ive also checked the fuse for the relay but thats good. Before I tackle the rest of the sensors I want to know which sensor or switch could have been damaged when the moter overheated wwithout coolnat when the Rad hose bursted? I know this question has been asked many times on this thread, but I want to pin point the exact location of the problem. Thanks

Tell us what kind of car you have, dual or single fans? The more info you give, the better info you get back.
You have checked the fan motor right? turn on the AC, see if that turns the fan on, if it does, then look to the fan temp sensor. Disconnect the wire going to it, ground it, if that turns you fan on the sensor is bad. You probably lost alot of coolent, you are sure that its full right? Check the radiator (when its cold) too. When I have to replace alot of coolent I usually start it with the radiator open and pour the fluid in there.
