Help

Alright first I would like to say, I have looked through the forums but I found few possible problems without solutions, maybe not even at all. I didn't know the normal running temp, I drive hard (accel quick and about 20 over limit). When I first bought the car, the temp bounced between about 195 and 225, I guess that is somewhat ok? The waterpump crapped the bed, got it replaced, got a new 16 lb psi cap too, and got the bottom radiator hose replaced. But now it runs either at a steady 230 - 240. Please tell me everything that could be done that could lower this, the stock radiator is still in there, which is in good condition, new waterpump in which I let a garage put in, but I may attempt to put in the other stuff on my own. Also the temp problem didn't seem to start up untill after x-mas, I got into an accident before thanksgiving last yr here are some pics, maybe airflow is also seriously messed up?

Also there is rust within the radiator, got it flushed but they did a ****ty job it still ran between 195 - 225 after I got the flush, plus the flush was before the accident and the accident was about 5 months before the waterpump went, just before the water pump went my bottom radiator hose let lose a small leak that I only bandaged for a short time untill now in which I got replaced with a new one when I got the new waterpump.

also on the side note, the machanic that put in the waterpump had replaced my pressure cap with a 7lb psi cap in which leaked the radiator coolant that you see on the last pic, those pics are of today.

I am not sure but isnt 16lbs kinda high for a rad. cap? Check and make sure thats what the other one was. After doing that I would refluch the rad. myself and make sure you have the right mixture of collent/water.

Also is the airdam hurt from the wreck? That will cause over heating

16lbs is the correct radiator cap, dude.
If you have an electric fan, check to see if it is coming on. Turn the A/C on, and it should turn on.
Check to see that the thermostat is opening.
You may have a restriction in the radiator, causing it to not flow well.
If this overheating is when you are driving, look underneath the car to make sure the air dam is still undamaged and in place. That little dam forces air up into radiator.
Let me know how everything works out.
Oh yeah, if you wind up replacing the thermostat, get a 180 degree, and drill a few small holes in it, help insure against any air pockets from forming.
Good Luck
