manual Fan control X2 wont work but 1 will
I have a 91' GTA and it was wrecked in the front end. The MORONS that put it back together wired the "single" fan to the 12volt radio wire. That was getting hot and i fixed it. I wired the one and only fan like this for the winter time.
Solid Black on wire harness-Grounded to frame
Black w/red stripe--switch-leg to switch, then switch to +battery terminal
This has worked fine for the winter and i love the full control of the fan. Now that the summer is here, today i mounted the second fan. This fan i wired like this:
Solid Black on wire harness-grounded to frame
Black w/purple stripe--switch-leg to switch, then switch to +battery terminal (this is on a secondary switch)
This secondary fan is shorting out. I tested for continuity from the frame to the switch-leg and the is none so i know that the wire isnt grounded. Please help.
Also when i hit the switch and its shorting out the fan tried to run very slow.
