is low normal

is it normal for the coolant in the resivior to go low and then back to high? mine does this and it seems that when i put more in it goes low. there are no leakes at all ive checked. but just wondering if im putting enough in there. at this moment i checked and it low in the resivior. whats happening here?

There are two marks on the front side of the overflow. One is hot and the other is cold. After the engines been off for a while it should be at the cold mark. When its at operating temp it should be at the hot mark. If you have to keep adding coolant to keep it at either mark your losing coolant somewhere or you system is purging air bubbles out of the system.

ok didnt know that thanks dude. everytime ive checked it the car has been cold. ill check it when its been running. thanks
