finally fixed my overheating problem!
i wasnt having an overheating problem during the winter, but once it got warm out, and i tried driving on the highway, i noticed a considerably higher temperature reading on my gauge.. lol i finally fixed the whole front air dam on my 89' formula firebird. when i bought the car, it had absolutely nothing on... i dont know how it wasnt overheating. anyway, i went to a junkyard, got the 2 side pieces that go in front of the wheel wells, and the center piece in the front and put it all together... problem solved. the car has never run cooler on the highway! i was very lucky i found the entire thing in one piece at a near by junkyard... seeing the last time i went they had no firebirds. this time they had a 1990 formula 305 there with the whole front intact. so i stripped it all off... i might take some more stuff tomorrow hehe just thought i'd share that with everyone! NOW MY TEMP NEVER GOES PAST 220!!! WEEEE

Congrats...
At least you didnt replace your entire cooling system to find out it was those missing parts that made the difference. Most people dont understand that cars are put together and made to work a certain way. Once you change something, theres a good chance it affects the car in a negative way. In your case, the car was running hot. Some people would have changed out the water pump, radiator, thermostat etc etc.. Good job!!!

well i mainly didnt do any of that stuff b/c the problem wasnt really on idle... it was only on the highway, or when i was driving at a constant speed for a while. so i knew it was probably an airflow problem. i'm just glad its fixed... lol i might need a new radiator soon though, mines cracking a little bit b/c the people that owned it before me probably overtightened the clamps... damn plastic rads.... bla. anyway thanks
