Sc guys need your help
Ok a friend of mine has recently ran into some cooling issues so i come to you with a question regarding operating tempetures. He has a 331 with a Vortech s trim supercharger on it. he is running 12lbs of boost.
We had it parked in front of a wall, kept it at 2k, and the tempeture ran to about 220. we didnt let it run anylonger for fear of blowing the headgaskets... hes running a straight water in the cooling system.
as far as his cooling system goes here is the run down:
3 core aluminum radiator
overdrive water pully
stock water pump
single electric fan that pulls 2800 cfm
180 degree therm
what do you supercharged guys normally opperate ate?
he has tried every mix of antifreeze, water, water wetter!
Have tried:
Flex light dual fans
Royal purple ice
water wetter
stock fan
undervive pully
overdrive pully
stock pully
160 degree therm
we have a fan that will pull 4000cfm, but if we hack it up to mount it we wont be able to return it and its not a cheap fan
