What do you think?
Alright heres the deal guys. I have been building a mild 350 for my car for about six months or so and just got it running at the begining of last month. I had a few problems tuning and what not and they seem to be solved, but now I have run into a new prob. The other day I was driving the car and it started to run a little hot(around 240 degrees). So I got a little worried and paid close attention to the guage. Well my car shifted out of 2nd and when the rpms in the 3rd dropped to about 1500 or so the car cooled down to about 225 or so. So I stopped at a few places and headed home. Then On my way home the car got real hot again. I noticed that when i would take off at a light the temp would go up until I got into third gear and maintained a low RPM. Well after cruising for a while the temp. started climbing to 250 degrees so I shut the car off in a nieghborhood. At first I thought my headers were throwing my mechanical guage off, but then I noticed my overflow tank was full and steaming and everything under the hood was hot as hell. Just to let you guys know I do have an air damn and I have a low temp thermostat and my fans run full time. What do you think it is? Also is there a way to test a water pump to see if its working? Thanks for your help guys.

No, I havent made any adjustments to the carb lately. All i have really done is mess with idle mixtures screws and secondary springs. But I havent messed with the carb for about two weeks and it ran fine up until the other day. I did move the dist. the other day however, I had to pull the cap of because the coil wire came loose, I thought I moved it right back to where it was but maybe I didnt I will re-check. Do you think it has to much timing or to little? Also when I was working on it today I started to here a sqeeking sound that sounds like its coming from the front of the motor it sounds exactly like my alternator sounded when it went out a while ago,but I know thats not it. Maybe its the water pump? Thanks for your input man. I will try to add or back out a little timing tomorrow.
